Das Schweizer Designbüro Postfossil gehört definitiv zu meinen Designfavoriten im Stil "Simply Modern". Ein schönes Beispiel sind die Neuentwicklungen Doubleface (Schüssel und Vase) und Doublefacette (Salz- und Pfefferstreuer). Schöner geht´s nimmer.

‘Unfold Wall Sticker’ is a latest series of design from PEGA. Inspired by origami, these designs could serve a specific function when unfolded on the wall. For example, when you unfold the gramophone, certain broadcast programs will then be turned on and you will find the gramophone is actually a radio. The functions of the wall stickers also include a floor lamp, a scent diffuser and a table lamp.

This is a creative set of painted porcelain vases and tablewares which have blurred the line between decoration and function. Obviously, Ruth Gurvich has drawn an inspiration from the Chinese Landscape Paintings, revealing the tablewares’ functions from a decorative perspective. Besides, the designer also endows these daily necessities with creases, folds and tautness characteristics of paper, giving them a distinctive appearance.

You think table lamps are too boring? You won’t think so after checking out the Bop Lamp. Apparently, Baita Bueno has drawn an inspiration from the classic toy ‘Bop Bags’ and endows the lamp with a similar shape. The most interesting part is the design of concrete ballast on the bottom enabling one to set the lamp into motions while using it as a light. It is made from injection molded ABS thermoplastic.

You needn’t have to search for matched bookmarks for your book covers, they’re already there. Just as the designer has claimed, “it would be great if we can use dust jackets and bookmarks together to create a unique image of a paper book.”
More pictures after the break.
