It’s a wooden log and a radio. That ain’t all folks. It’s also solar powered and if Mr. Sunshine isn’t happy that day, there’s a dynamo powered by your finger. I love the giant wooden rotary dials to change stations and volume. The old school retractable antenna nostalgically tugs at my heart too. Sure I have no idea what station I’m changing to but it looks like an ewok crafted it so I totally approve.

BTW, 80% of the radio is oak. The rest are radio components. Treehuggers might like it… or will they hate it since it’s made from a tree? Hmmm

Imagine, you lead your loved one to a perfect spot on the beach for a romantic picnic you’ve been planning for quite some time. The sun is setting and everything is just the way it should be, except both of you are trying to balance your wine glasses with no luck – Quite embarrassing moment…

However, with Steady Sticks that will never happen. Crafted from rust-resistant stainless steel, this set of wine bottle and glass holders includes four holders for wine or champagne glasses and one for the bottle specifically designed to be embedded in the nearest grassy patch or sandy beach without you spilling your drink. You are going to score big with these cuties and make a really good impression – Pretty cool.

Every once in a while, not often!, but sometimes, Yanko Design features a designer who’s more of an artist, more of a visionary looking in to a different dimension. This is one of those times. These particular bits of furniture were collected from the mind of Valentin Loellman, who looked deep inside his dreams, visions, and nightmares, then got some wood and nails and whipped up some neat stuff.

Mostly functional, too! Pick your way through this modge-podge of weirdness and find yourself right in the middle of a seat or table or on top of a dresser that is one of a kind.

I’m reminded of a quote from Weird Al: “You know what? Nobody in this small town appreciates a guy with a good imagination. Some day they’ll all be sorry. They’ll be eating breakfast or something and all of a sudden they’ll say, ‘Hey…!’ We screwed up! We never should have fired George Newman because he’s got imagination!”

And that’s my lesson on industrial design for today.

Check out this cool pyramid casemod! We have seen one before (The Great Pyramid Tower) but this Pyramid HTPC case mod looks impressive!

According to our source, the designer of this case is actually imitating the pyramid shapes in the Stargate movie series. The case mod comes complete with door to open up so you can get access to the inner equipment. It gives sense like ‘I’ve found the treasure inside the pyramid!’ when you open up the case’s door like the picture below:

This Stargate Pyramid HTPC casemod is featuring Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor, GeForce 9400GT, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 160GB Hard drive and all of them are hosted inside the Mini-Itx Crommel LV-677 motherboard. Each stair-like design on the pyramid (or section) is getting a nice Gold LED illumination when you turn the stuff on. Pretty a strong HTPC, and it can let you play the latest tomb rider game and let the girl explore the maze for you.
