For instance the Presence in Absence DIY USB Carving Set is for those lovers who stay apart often, yet want a tangible piece of each other. The set comprises of a wooden Digital stick that you and your partner craft into two with the help of the special knife. This is where words like legacy, heirloom and devoted love come into play.

“I wanted to include the reflective, relaxing qualities of crafts as way to build an emotional bond between users firstly and then users and objects.” It also hopes to open a dialogue about how we will value our digital artifacts in the future – our digital heirlooms.

Ignoring the pun in the name Fall Tea Kettle; let me go straight ahead and tell you what’s so cool about this concept. Due to its transparent glass body, you can choose the strength of your brew based on visual judgment. Whilst the water is boiling and the leaves brewing, based on the color of the drink, you can easily slide up the tea strainer from the pot and maintain the strength of your tea. The kettle comes complete with its heating element at the base, and the niche at the bottom keeps the pot grounded safe on it.

It’s always about the future, and in the future you guys are going to realize the need of doubling up your interior spaces by adding more than one function to a room. Like, you may want your bathroom to double up as a gym when you’re not taking a bath. So how about you get the Roca Active & Relax Bathroom? It’s this luxurious room where the sunken bath is really sunken, invisible till you don’t open up the floorboards. No windows too, instead 3 floor-to-ceiling LCDs giving you the illusion of a panoramic view.

Quack Quack! Ok I won’t kid around this time, but I think Mac Funamizu has matured pretty much in his design sensibilities. The CD player is called Quackie, but the concept looks decent enough for the tweens who endorse stuff like the Mickey Mouse MP3 players. Quackie is thus: There’s a round body that rolls and a black speaker. The speaker is attached to the body at the axis and it rolls around the body. Simple functions of play/stop/next/back and volume up/down are included.
To pump up the volume, you roll the body so that the “beak” opens up; shutting the beak powers-off the system. Click the black speaker once to skip to the next song and click it thrice to go back.

Elecom has launched a new range of headphones, which they are calling ‘Fashionable’, the EHP-OH100 headphones.

The Elecom EHP-OH100 Fashionable Headphones come in a choice of seven funky colors, including black, blue, green, brown, red, orange and purple.

The Elecom EHPOH100 features a 30mm driver unit, an 30Ω impedance, an output of 104dB/1mW and works on a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency.
