Material Trends Award
With which innovative ideas do young designers come up with to create intelligent materials? Which changes will we see in future in the field of lightweight construction and composite material? These issues are dealt with by the material TRENDS award 2010 organized by iF for the first time ever. Students and recent gradutes from the disciplines of design, architecture and interior design are invited to submit their creative ideas.

The iF concept award invites young designers worldwide to submit innovative contributions and apply for the sought-after iF award. The iF concept award offers students and recent graduates from the areas of design, architecture, marketing and engineering an opportunity to compare themselves on an international level and to present their ideas to the design-interested public.

lebens(t)raume
The young gerneration contest "lebens(t)raume" (dreams for life) is being organized since 2004 by Vincentz Network, in collaboration with the "universal design GmbH" and organized by iF. It aims at young people to design for the older generations as well as for disabled people.

L’argus European Design Competition for Students: Less is More: Travelling in the Era of Simplicity
The French magazine L’argus de l’automobile has launched its 8th European Design Competition. Questioning students on mobility and on the future of automobile design, L’argus Contest invites them to take up the challenge of "always less". From 1st June to 11 December 2009, they will cope with the topic "Less is more: travelling in the era of simplicity."
Prizes:
1st place: 3,000 Euro, as well as an internship within the style department of French car manufacturer Citroen
2nd place: 1,500 Euro
3rd place: 500 Euro
