Swedish design students, Emma Nilsson, Johanna Westin and Lisa Frode have designed ‘P Sofflocket’ sofa. The design uses traditional and contemporary techniques to reinterpret and adapt the common kitchen sofa.
The new design offers the same functions as traditional bench but tailored to the needs of modern families and their way of life. Storage space located under the seat is separated into two parts which allows for easy access and organization. The back bench provides more storage for books, newspapers and magazines, reflecting a more open life in the house today.
This bench is made from locally produced Swedish pine, indigenous to the nordic area, with elm wood detail.
‘P Sofflocket’ will be on show in February 2011 at the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
