Graphic designer and illustrator Clara von Zweigbergk designed this Themis Mobile for Artecnica’s latest summer collection. It is a delicate, geometric sculpture composed of five colorful, faceted ornaments. Each ornament has its own distinct palette of color: fluorescent neons, purples and browns.
Clara von Zweigbergk was inspired by the geometric design of polyhedra. She says, “the shapes quickly came together as a mobile. I think of them as planets and like to see the colors change while gently turning.” The stark contrast of the vibrantly colored planes creates a dramatic visual effect, yet as they slowly turn, suspended in the air by a delicate frame and thin wires, the effect is quietly striking, fragile, and ethereally beautiful.
I got to see this mobile in person at the NYIGF and I have to say it is quite delicate and beautiful.
