Fancy A Battery That Won’T Run Out Of Juice?

clip_image001

This is something that is actually pretty amazing, if you think about it. A resource that won’t probably run out of juice. Brother Industries (yes the Brother that made your printer) has developed an AA battery sized generator powered by vibration, which can be used to charge another AA battery.

Inside the generator battery sits an “electromagnetic induction generator and an electric double layer capacitor” which will be able to generate a relatively small amount of power sufficient to power up small electronic devices like remotes and LED torches.

Reminds me of those torch lights from China that can be powered up easily just by shaking it. However, I can only think of one small electronic device that will be able to power up itself with the help of this battery. But how long can it last, is still unimaginable.
