The Bose SoundDock 10 is a large and bulky iPod docking station built to accommodate users seeking high-quality music for their iPod or iPhone. It is in fact taller and heavier than any other docking station from Bose; according to Bose, “it is transportable, [but] not portable.” It comes with a 3.5mm mini-adapter for connecting a DVD/CD player, MP3 player or other audio device. However, it can be swapped with an optional Bluetooth adapter ($150). The SoundDock 10 even hosts a composite video port, so that users can view photos and/or videos on a compatible television set. As for the audio, it’s based off Bose’s proprietary Advanced WaveGuide Speaker Technology — which allows for full-bodied sound, more natural bass, and realistic percussions. Included also are “Twiddlers,” which are tweeter designed to perform like midrange domes.
